The Imperfect Reflection - Poetry

She can’t remember when last she went on her knees,

But she can’t ever forget to bend in other to wear her collection of pinkbottom heels.

She doesn’t speak in tongues anymore,

But the latest gossip in town she pours out of her mouth and much more.

She won’t even reverence His name.

Jesus Christ! She calls out as she makes love with a married man, no guilt or shame.

Where did she put her bible?

Her chequebook, gossip magazines and android phones are all near her and reachable.

It doesn’t mean she doesn’t go to church,

Oh no, she never ever misses a service, never late as much.

So why is she even a subject?

Don’t we have anything to do other than make her the target?

We have no idea how unfair life has been.

She will live her life the way she pleases, don’t you judge her that’s just mean.

But recently she noticed she hardly recognizes herself,

Oh wait, I am talking about the girl in the mirror... I am talking about myself?
