-The wisdom to see freedom isn’t free-
Growing up in Africa, one thing that i know my people have fought for all their lives is freedom. Despite the fact that we celebrated our 54th independence day on the 1st of October just to acknowledge the fact that we have been set free, we had hand bands, phone cases, keychains, stickers bearing the word freedom just to buttress that point that we are no longer slaves.
The sad truth is that, freedom has never been free for us. Soldiers, officers, civilians, men, women, children and animals can bear this witness as they have all paid dearly the price of slavery with their lives.
We still patiently wait for the return of more than 200 girls abducted over five months ago in Nigeria. The horrid memories they will have even after they are eventually set free from their abductors may enslave them in other ways probably worse than they currently are.
Freedom is not free...
Jesus Christ wanted to set us free, as we had been enslaved by sin. He being the all knowing acknowledged the fact that a price must be paid for our freedom. That price was His life; He died so that we can live...
So if Jesus could do it, then we can do it too...Pay it forward, pass it on....Parents should be willing to pay the price for their children, Government should be willing to pay the price for its citizens...
What is the payment for freedom?Sacrifice...But love is the key ingredient that provokes the act of sacrifice; Jesus loves us so much that he didn’t mind dying on our behalf to set us free.
The wages for freedom is sacrifice...But sacrifice can only suffice when there is love...When you see an enslaved nation, you see a nation that lacks love. Slavery can and will be stopped when we stop preaching religion and start preaching love. Freedom will be achieved when we stop playing politics and start showing love.
Love is the exchange value and it is absolutely free...I haven’t done much to stop slavery; I don’t even know if I can make that sacrifice myself...I must be honest. But my heart bleeds out when I see injustice or slavery, I always wish I could do something and at the same time I get scared that I might regret my actions if I do.
Probably get arrested for speaking up or get hated for standing in the gap for someone or even get killed for setting someone else free...But the Lord hasn’t given me the spirit of fear but that of love and of a sound mind so I gladly proclaim that I am no longer afraid of the consequences...
I am a Human Right Activist for those in slavery...
I now have wisdom, knowledge and understanding that FREEDOM ISNT FREE, THE WAGES OF FREEDOM IS SACRIFICE AND LOVE IS THE EXCHANGE VALUE... #BringBackOurGirls #ShineYourLight #SpreadTheWord
