Potter’s Image

Potter’s Image
Her insecurities starts every day with a mirror.  She looks at her reflection and the person starring right back at her isn’t recognizable and each line on her face has terrible stories to tell that no plastic surgery she has ever done has been able to cleanse.

She has been through a lot, life was somewhat unfair to her in so many ways.

She was born into poverty, living from hand to mouth, teaching her just how to survive but not live so she found out the hard way that they were completely two different things.

Trust me, she wasn’t proud of most of the things she had done; abortion, deceit, prostitution just to mention a few but she had made those choices for survival and she will do it all again and won’t change most things because that’s the only life she knew.

His insecurities starts every day without a mirror. The reflection he even sees when he looks at it is one he can’t remember what it looks like immediately he steps away.

When did his life get so complicated? All he wanted was just to get away, have a safe haven where no one bothered him or spoke to him without respect.

He had his life all figured out, nothing could stop him from fulfilling his dreams. He was at his peak of his career, so rich and popular yet very depressed and miserable. He couldn’t stand the person he had become, living a life he thought he wanted but not what he needed.

He found out the hard way that they were completely two different things. The drugs weren’t helping, neither was the alcohol getting him fired up anymore. Nothing seemed to work and he can’t still get enough sleep, the insomnia has given room for depression to creep in.

He was proud of most of the things he had done but if he was given life all over again, he won’t do it all again probably won’t get as addicted to drugs as he was but that was the life he had come to know.

The Bible tells us that we were created in God’s image and likeness, therefore every time we look at a mirror, we see Christ. No matter what reflection stares back at us, we must come to understand that we were wonderfully and beautifully created despite the hurt and pain, the challenges and the fears.

We were created to live and not survive, to have everything we need and probably not want as they are completely two different things.

All we have to do is get to know Him that created us like Him personally. Inviting Him in every way and read His word-the Bible -every day. Meditating in it Day and Night to create a relationship that will help us understand our true purpose irrespective of our circumstances.

We may look at the mirror and see our insecurities, we may see failure but He sees a victor because He is victorious, we may see lack but He sees abundance because He is the Great Provider. What we see doesn’t change who He created us to resemble-Himself.

He created us: good, very good, wonderfully and beautifully made.

The next time you pick up a mirror, look at that reflection starring right back at you and smile to it.

That is the face of God!

Spread the word! Shine your light.
